Flatland Tricks

Easy Tricks

Rockwalk-Start by rolling forwards slowly. Carve a small arc and hit your front brake turning 180 degrees on your front tire. Bring your back tire down, hit the back brake, and spin another 180 degrees on the back tire. You can do this until you feel you are done!!!

Endo-Start rolling at a slow speed, take one foot off the pedal and jam it in between the tire and the fork. Bring the back tire off the ground and hold it there until you feel you are done, then bring it back down. now bike away!!!

Curb Endo-To do this trick just steer your bike into a curb at a slow speed. When you meet the curb, hit your front brakes and bring your back tire off the ground and hold it there until you feel you are done then bring it back down to the ground and bike off!!!!!

Not So Bad Tricks

Taliwhip-Start by rolling at a slow speed. Then have your left foot on the left peg and jam your right foot in the front tire. At the same time hit your brakes and kick your frame around so it does a complete 360 degree rotation. When it comes around put your foot on the frame and pedal away!!!

Firehydrant-Start with your handlebars backwards and yourself at the front of the bike so you are looking at the seat. Begin scuffing and when you feel the time is right, dab your front brake and swing the frame 180 degrees. This is a very common trick to do after a decade.

Infinity Rolls-Start with you handlebars turned at 45 degrees and one foot on which ever back peg you want. (left on left, right on right) Push off using the other foot to scuff the front tire backwards so you are travelling in circles. you can also start this with an endo.

Squeaker-Put your left foot on the front left peg and do a small endo with the brake. Then with your right foot scuff the front tire backwards keeping the back tire off the ground. You will need front brakes for this trick at first. To make this trick easier let the seat rest under your ass.

Another good one?-Have the bars turned to 90 degrees. Hold the front of the seat and your grip with the same hand, with the other one holding the front brake. Put one foot on the outside peg and have the other one scuffing the tire. This makes you go in circles.

Frontyard-While rolling forwards, put your right foot over the handlebars onto your front tire. With a dab of the front brake, lift your back tire off the ground and put your left foot on the front left peg. Begin scuffing the front tire with your right foot while keeping your back wheel off the ground.

Backwards Steamroller-Start with your handlebars backwards and yourself at the front of the bike so you are looking at your seat. Next push off so you are rolling backwards. Once you have your balance lift up the back tire off the ground and keep rolling. When you are good at this start scuffing the tire with your foot until you feel you are done!!

Hard Tricks

Pinky Squeak-Start with your right foot on the left pedal and your left foot on the front left peg. Begin rolling slowly and do a small endo. Then kick your frame around with your right foot. Then use your right foot to scuff the tire backwards while you are jumping over the frame. To do at least two turns you have to get an even rythm in between turns. (i.e. 3 scuffs in between each turn)

Decade-Have your left foot on the back left peg, and your right foot on the frame. Do a small endo and hit your back brake, rock back onto your back wheel so your front wheel is high in the air. Now spin 360 degrees over your head tube clockwise/anticlockwise. When finished the rotation you may either land on the frame or on your pedal!!

Backyard-Start facing backwards on your bike holding your grips. Hit your back brake so your front lifts off the ground. Put one foot on the back peg after pushing off use the other foot to scuff the tire. At the same time take your right hand off the bars for balance, and feather the brake with the other hand. This should be your first scuffing trick to be done on your back wheel!!

Lard Yard-Put your feet in the same position as a backyard only you are holding the handlebars with one hand so the bike is on an angle. This makes you go in circles. This trick is very difficult and requires alot of practice.

Hang Five-While rolling forwards, put your front foot on the front left peg. Without using the brakes, thrust yourself forwards using your weight on the peg and using the other leg for balance. Let the seat rest under you ass, your arms out straight for balance, and you head up looking forwards. I do not recommend this trick for any beginners.

Dumptruck-Start with a robbie wheel, (left foot on back peg). Tap the front brakes to stop your front wheel from turning. As you bring the front wheel up higher, let go of your right grip and grab the left fork. As you grab the forks, bring your right foot through to scuff the back tire. After that let go of the grip and continue to scuff in circles while you are still holding on to the fork!!!

Street Tricks

360 Hop-Carve at the front wheel in a tight arc hust before hopping, logting the front wheel first. A bit more than half way around you can let your back tire touch the ground and at the same time apply some force on the pedal. Use your momemtum to finnish the rest of the rotation on your back tire. You can do this trick off curbs, benches and stairs.

Manual Roll-A manual roll is when you stand on the pedals and do a wheelie without pedalling. To start this simply do a wheelie and stop pedalling. Or you can just lift your front wheel up while moving. For good balance keep your arms stiff and use the rest of your body to balance.

Feeble Grind-Ride parallel to a bench or rail and hop so your front wheel rolls on the top and your back peg grinds on the edge. Once you are finnished hop back off and ride away happy!!!

Bar Spin-Lean back like you are doing a manual and grip the seat with your knees and spin the bars while leaning back to lift the front wheel off the ground. This trick can hurt your knees before you can do it real well so either get a bigger seat or move it forwards.

Foot Plant-Ride parallel to a bench or higher surface(not higher than you unless you can olly 6 feet) and olly while taking your foot off the pedal and planting it on the bench using it to boost you higher off the ground. Get your foot back onto the pedal if you have time and ride off.

Dirt Jumping

Candy Bar-Once launched, take one foot off the pedal and stick it straight over the top of your bars. Try to get it back before you land or you could hurt yourself in an unhappy spot. This move goes against natural instics so it takes time.

Three Sixty-All I have to say is try it. Its almost like doing it off the ground but you must complete the full 360 degree rotation. At first you should try going small. Once mastered, go BIG!!!!

Cancan-Once launched, take one foot off the pedal and stick it over the other side of the top tube. Try to get your leg fully stretched so its looks cool. The bigger you go, the more time you have to get it back.

Superman-Once launched, take your legs off the pedals and throw them backwards so it looks like you are flying like Superman. When you are ready, put them back on. This trick should not be attempted by novice riders.

In this area I'll include a list of all the material necessary to perform the tasks I'm describing on this page.
